Life Changes

So what does one do after 21 plus years at one company with a couple diplomas under your belt and lots of experience and a layoff notice in your hand? The emotions that flood your mind are amazing. The ideas of why me, what went wrong, what do I do now, where do I turn, am I too old to start over, will anyone hire me, are there any jobs to be had without going back to the beginning?

All these and more are what I have been working through since I found out I was being laid off from my work. Here I am with in a very short period of early retirement and I can not do that because i am being laid off. Here I am on the down hill side of things concerning employment and now I am or will be shortly unemployed.

Resumes are harder than ever to write. Much different than when I first entered the job market. Then it was one page only and main bullets and nice expensive paper to print it on. Now it is no bold, or different size types. It can be more than one page but not more than three. The biggest change however is that a real person more than likely will never touch your resume unless it is chosen by a computer for closer review. And how is it chosen? By key words. You must have those key words they are looking for or you will never even be looked at.

Kind of funny how that works. I know of a job that was written for a certain person they wanted to hire. But they had to post it so everyone had a chance to apply. They put out the job rec and told him to apply. His resume was not even amongst the final resumes chosen by the computer. Realize the job rec was written to match his credentials because they wanted to hire him. But he did no use the proper key words the computer used as filters. Thus he was not chosen and they had to go have him resubmit and rewrite his resume so it would be picked up by the computer.

I understand companies receive thousands of resumes every day especially in these hard times. I know they need a way to weed through all of those and get down to something they can use. But I am also positive they are missing out on many good candidates who would be perfect for the job who maybe did not use the exact key words that would have gotten them picked. How sad to rely on the computer to do your work for you rather than as a tool to help you do your work. But we are not going to go that direction any further in this post as that is a story unto it self.

So here I sit thinking back before this job when I was unemployed and poor and trying to raise a family. Now it is just me and my wife as the kids are grown and gone. We have money in the bank and I have more education and experiance than before. That is not hard since I had none way back then. But I also did not have a large house payment either.

Well, I will write more as things move along. It should be interesting to see where I fall when all is said and done. Later..

Signs of the Times

My how life changes when least expected. I would like to offer some thanks to our fearless new President.
Thank you Mr. Obama for spending my $$ for other people.

Thank you Mr. Obama for taking my hard earned $$ right out of my hands to pay off those who love you so much.

Thank you Mr. Obama for stomping on my rights and freedoms. For enslaving me for decades to pay off a debt that nobody but you and your minions want.

Thank you Mr. Obama for ensuring the economy will continue to fail to you can take over and socialize every business you possibly can.

Thank you Mr. Obama for taking full credit for the supposed Stimulus Package and not even letting other Democrats have some credit by signing it away from everyone.

Thank you Mr. Obama for making sure more children in the world are killed by funding and pushing the immoral abortion issue to the world.

Thank you Mr. Obama for showing us your true colors, ambitions, desires, and agenda. I hope and pray the people wake up and realize how truly dangerous your ideas are.

I encourage you to go and read the Constitution and abide by its precepts. Stop taking away our freedoms and enslaving us because you think you know best. You do not! You are but a man who for what ever reason happens to be the President at this moment in time. You are not a King no matter how much you may wish to be.

You need to listen to the God of this land. You need to remove the laws and regulations that enslave us and allow us to grow and learn on our own. You can not save this country. We the people must do it. We must help one another on our own free will and not by force. People must stand on their own feet and grow their own bread. You can not feed the masses. You can not cloth them. You can not provide housing for them. The government has no right to extract we the peoples hard earned livelihood and give it to whom you think needs it more. That is theft it is morally wrong. It is not for the greater good. It is for your own pleasure and self promotion.

What can and should you be doing? You should be removing all the laws that enslave we the people. You should be promoting and strengthening families. Do you want to cure this Nation of most of its ills? Then strengthen the family. Remove the laws that tear families apart and support single parents. In stead put in laws that support two parent familes consisting of a Man and a Woman to raise children up right.

Eliminate welfare. Allow people to help people on their own and not be forced. Allow people to defend themselves. If you wish to not own guns that is just fine. But for those who do get out of their way. Again read the Constitution and be amazed at the simple truths that are there.

I have high hopes you will figure it out sooner than later. However, from what I am seeing you are so full of yourself and so caught up in the moment you are missing the true big picture of the world. Do you want to see things get better? Then talk that way. Do not stand each day and tell the Nation that if things are not done your way right now we are all going to die and everything will fail and not be fixable. That is NOT the way a leader speaks. That is the talk of a moron! People are looking to the President for Leadership not doomsday talk. Many people look up to you. Many think you walk on water but we know you do not. They fall on your every word as gospel and yet you are not a prophet but a mere imperfect mortal man. It is time for you to get your act together.

Rein in the Democrats who are spending us into slavery. Involve the Republicans and others as they have wonderful ideas too. You said you would do that. Yet your idea of talking to them is to remind them you won and they have to do it your way. WRONG!!!! You are President but there was a large poplulation who voted against you. You are their President too. You need to look out for their needs and desires also.

Learn from former Presidents mistakes don't repeat them at greater levels! I pray for this country and that we will come together and have rightous leaders to guide us through thes tough times.
